Presidential Courage
What defines how courageous a President was in office was being able to make very bold decisions in the face of fierce opposition from others in the political landscape. Courageous Presidents do not try to simply appease the masses or their political opposition, but rather they make decisions based solely what they think is best for America. Since they are doing what they think is best for the country, their decisions are often considered very controversial. However, many of these bold reforms made by these Presidents were often widely supported.
